Strategies for Success Workshops

Strategies for Success Workshops are free to all undergraduate faculty and provide lectures, hands-on activities, and demonstrations of cutting-edge approaches and technologies, as well as a chance to meet colleagues and share instructional ideas and solutions. This event is offered every year in May and this past year’s event welcomed over 100 science instructors from across Canada.

The Canadian Consortium of Excellence in University Biology

The Canadian Consortium of Excellence in University Biology (CCEUB) was founded in 2010. It is a community-based organization that works to enhance biological education through the communication of research findings and novel teaching practices. Membership in CCEUB is open to all biology professors, lecturers, lab instructors, sessional instructors, and teaching assistants. A key goal of CCEUB is to develop and maintain a networking platform and resource-rich website consisting of peer-reviewed biological teaching resources in both official languages.

CCEUB members are able to submit teaching research and resources for peer-reviewed publication, participate in the Consortium’s discussion forum, and connect with other scientists, professors and teaching professionals. Members also have access to a vast repository of educational material and are invited to CCEUB’s annual general meeting. Please feel free to join in on the discussion at CCEUB

Biology Leadership Forum

Sponsored by Pearson Canada, the annual Biology Leadership Forum is a meeting devoted to introductory course for biology majors & for non-majors students. The day-long event features interactive workshops, lively discussions, show-and-tell and a great time to network and connect with colleagues from across the country. Attendance is limited to ensure maximum interaction.

Biology Editorial Advisory Forum

Sponsored by Pearson Canada, Biology Editorial Advisory Forum is a think tank of biology instructors from across Canada. We meet twice yearly to have facilitated discussions, show-and-tell and to brainstorm resources that will benefit undergraduate biology instruction in Canada. Some of the great ideas to come out of past forums include: The Canadian Consortium of Excellence in University Biology (CCEUB), Biology on the Cutting Edge, instructors resources on thumb drives, and more! Attendance is limited to ensure maximum interaction.
